"AMERICA, LOVE IT OR LOSE
IT" was written in the early '70s, during the Vietnam War and the Nixon administration. I believe it is just
as appropriate now, during the Bush administration.
"AMERICA, LOVE
IT OR LOSE IT" “America, love it or lose it” Are words that ring so true. For perhaps
we should stop and think What it’s done for me and you. You know we have a hell of a lot We should be
thankful for: Our freedom, our riches, our power, And our very own undeclared war.
We should all love
this land of ours And defend its Bill of Rights, For maybe some day in the future It will apply to blacks as
well as whites. Isn’t it wonderful that free speech Permits even our own vice-president To make a total
ass of himself In his attempts to crush the dissident?
We should treat the blacks as equals, But then
you know we should - As long as they “know their place” And don’t move into our neighborhood. Oh, God bless the good Christian Who stays behind his locked door, For he knows not what he’s missin’ ‘Cause he just doesn’t care any more.
Yes, I love America And that’s the way I choose
it. But we better open our eyes - look around And change it before it before we lose it.

I wrote the "PRAA Theme Song" for the Prudential Recreational and Athletic Association membership
drive, an employee-funded organization at Prudential Insurance Company. The PRAA sponsored many activities, including trips
to various locations, concerts, plays, sporting events, etc. I was a principal actor for the PRAA Players. The $200 I received
for writing the song seemed like a lot of money at the time. Other buildings are now located where the PRAA softball
field and running track used to be. It's truly unfortunate such a nice athletic field and track were replaced by
glass, steel and concrete abominations.
"PRAA THEME SONG" I’ve been around this great big world, I’ve heard a lot of people
say, Now is the time to enjoy yourself With the P R double A. It’s a big year of entertainment And
a year of fun each day. You know that you are a superstar With the P R double A.
Chorus: Hey now,
let me say now, I tell ya that the time is here. Hey now, P R A A now, Oh, well, you know this is our year.
It’s a year for new ideas And a whole new exciting theme. Now is the time for your star to shine If you know what I mean. So join along and you won’t go wrong, You’ll chase your blues away. Lotta
things to do for me and you With the P R double A.
Repeat chorus and fade.

This next little ditty was written, when
I worked at Prudential Insurance Company, for the annual Prudential Employee Blood Drive. I received $125.00 for writing
a song that took 10 minutes to complete.
"BLOOD DRIVE THEME"
Well I’m not one to turn away When I can lend a hand. There may not be much I can do, I help
whenever I can. Well I’m gonna be a volunteer And help in my own way. Gonna give some blood, maybe save
a life And I hope you’ll do the same Yes I hope you’ll do the same, Oh, I hope you’ll do the same.
(Music fades away)

"A LAST RETURN" I yearn to return to the days of my youth, When life was different, and so
was the truth. But truth often takes a very strange turn And with growing older, it’s so hard to learn. To return to
my childhood days When I had no idea of man’s evil ways. I looked upon the policeman as my friend, But I learned he protects
the evil men.
I long for the days I was never hesitant To believe the words of our President. But now his words I surely despise, ‘Cause I hear the hypocrisy in his lies.
To return to innocence and
my school days, When I had no idea of man’s cruel ways. I learned of wars we had fought and won, But the war for freedom has just begun.
To return to childhood's belief in the law, And a firm conviction of equal justice for all. But I’ve found that justice is only a myth As I see
the injustice that I grew up with.
Days of my boyhood are too long passed, And I’ve come to know this
world at last. But I continue to believe in my naive way That tomorrow will bring a brighter day.
I
just hope I live to see it.
