"A Love for the Ages"

RELATED LINKS:

"A Love For The Ages" was written for, and dedicated to, my mother and dad. They are two of the most decent, kind, loving, caring, sharing people one could ever hope to meet, and I suppose it's obvious I love them dearly. They both live the "Golden Rule", something I've not been able to do. I've never been able to achieve their kindness, or concern for humanity, but it doesn't mean I won't keep trying.

"A Love For The Ages"

A love for the ages
Is what my parents had.
He loved my mother dearly,
And she truly loved my dad.
They were devoted to each other,
And one could never doubt.
They had a love and marriage
That poets write about.

I never found a love
Like that my parents shared.
Neither had a single doubt
How much the other cared.
Trying to find true love
Is harder than it seems.
The only one I truly loved
Was a woman in my dreams.

As poets often write,
True love is hard to find.
So many people give up
And just leave it all behind.
Yes, love for the ages
Found my mother and dad.
Thru all their years of marriage
True love is what they had.
